ABPM: Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
Precise blood pressure monitoring over 24 hours.
What is ABPM?
An ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM — known in Quebec as MAPA, the term you may see on your prescription) is a portable device you wear for 24 hours. It automatically measures your blood pressure at regular intervals, day and night. It is the most accurate way to diagnose high blood pressure and adjust treatment. The service is available by prescription at Pharmacie Uniprix Samson, in Sainte-Dorothée (Laval).
How it works
1
You come to the pharmacy: a pharmacist fits the device
2
You wear the monitor for 24 hours (arm cuff)
3
You come back the next day to drop off the device
4
The report is sent to your doctor or pharmacist
